Make sure you connect your
rope halyard to your wire halyard. Connect the shackle to the shockcord
loop on the front of the spar. |

Loosen your sidestay sta-masters
to 3 on each side. This will get you extremely close to the proper
sidestay tension for all conditions. Make sure your forestay line
is uncleated for connection. |

After you have your spar
up connect the vang and cunningham. Be sure to tighten with a pliers.
Tape your sta-master pins and forestay pin. |

Adjust your jackstays to
two settings. When sailing with 2 people set your jackstays to 44".
Measure from the deck to the front face of the spar. When sailing
with 3 people under 500 lbs. in crew weight seriously recommended adjust
your jackstays 32". Mark both settings on the spar with permanent
marker. |

Measure mast rake to 31'10"
for your all purpose setting. 31'11" can be used if you have one
crew on the low side. 31'9" can be used for 3 person conditions or
overpowering conditions for two people. Mark your forestay line in
the three locations. |

Sequence in depowering your
C with the sail controls.
a. Outhaul should
be firm so there is a shelf in the sail.
b. Drop your traveler
c. Apply cunningham
d. Pull on boom vang
Always sail your boat for
speed, so as you get more overpowered keep applying more tension to the
sail controls, especially the boom vang. |

Board Height: Your
boards should be adjusted as the wind increases.
a. Light air:
The top of the board should be 2" out of the board box.
b. Medium air:
The top of the board should be 4" out of the board box.
c. Heavy air:
The top of the board should be 5"-6" out of the board box. |

To shockcord your skipper
hiking straps up just take the shockcord used to secure your tiller in
place. Put this through the bowline on the strap adjustment line
and hook it back to the lifting eye on the backbone. The skipper
straps will elevate for easier use. |
