Sail Development Progresses at Melges Watersports Center

Sail Development Progresses at Melges Watersports Center

The new Melges Watersports Center has provided an exceptional platform for sail development, allowing extensive sail evaluations and testing of new designs. Sailing the MC Scow and E Scow throughout the winter has significantly advanced our sail technology in collaboration with our team at Quantum Sails—great news for Melges customers seeking faster, more refined sails.

The MC Powerzone Mainsail has proven to be a top performer, consistently leading the fleet at major events. Most recently, it claimed victory at MC Winter Series Event #2 and the MC Trainwreck Regatta at Lake Eustis.

Melges-designed E Scow sails have long set the standard in the National Class. Partnering with Quantum has only strengthened this legacy, ensuring continued dominance on the regatta circuit. The Z-4 Spinnaker made a significant impact last summer, securing wins at premier events, while the Max Runner Spinnaker is an essential addition for those aiming to stay ahead—serious competitors should have both designs in their arsenal.

At the Melges Watersports Center, ongoing testing and competition drive continuous improvement. Our commitment to developing faster sails and utilizing superior materials is unmatched. Come visit and experience our new facility firsthand!
