Melges Performance Sailboats is looking for motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team in Zenda, WI. 

High-Performance Rigging Specialist
Location: Zenda, WI

This position helps bring our boats to life, one line, mast, and boom at a time. In this hands-on role, you’ll be at the heart of the action, rigging masts and booms, crafting standing and running rigging systems, and working closely with the Melges Team to deliver championship-ready boats. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and rig high-performance sailboat masts, booms, and spinnaker systems
  • Produce precision standing and running rigging using modern materials and techniques
  • Maintain high-quality standards while meeting production timelines
  • Collaborate with the production and service team to ensure every boat meets the Melges standard of excellence
  • Support regatta prep, boat launches, and customer deliveries as needed 

Experience:

  • A passion for sailing and technical craftsmanship
  • Experience with sailboat rigging or a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Familiarity with Dyneema, wire, and modern rope splicing (or a willingness to learn)
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and a team-first attitude

Hardware & Rigging Specialist
Location: Zenda, WI

In this role, you’ll be responsible for assembling, installing, and fine-tuning the mechanical and structural systems that bring each boat to life.

  • Assemble a wide range of mechanical and structural components in the hull and deck
  • Perform light plumbing, caulking, and sealing to ensure leak-free and clean installations
  • Route and install wire harnesses, hoses, and systems with accuracy and care
  • Operate heavy-duty equipment such as hoists and overhead cranes to install major components
  • Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and instructions to complete tasks to spec

Marine Gelcoat & Finishing Technician
Location: Zenda, WI

You’ll apply the coatings that define the look and feel of our world-class vessels. This is more than paint, it’s precision, protection, and pride in every pass.

  • Apply gelcoat using spray guns and other equipment
  • Prepare surfaces through sanding, cleaning, and masking to ensure ideal conditions for finishing
  • Inspect and blend finishes to ensure even color, texture, and coverage
    Buff and polish surfaces to achieve a smooth, high-gloss final result

Pre-Finish Technician
Location: Zenda, WI

Build the boat exterior according to manufacturing specifications in a safe and organized work area. We are looking for a dependable, personable individual who has an eye for quality. The Pre-Finish Tech will have experience with drill/drivers, woodworking tools, small pneumatic hand tools, caulk guns, and shop tools (miter saw, band saw, router, sanders).

Composite Technician
Location: Zenda, WI

As a Composite Technician, you’ll be working hands-on with fiberglass, resins, and core materials to build the very foundation of our boats. You won’t just make parts, you’ll make strength, structure, and durability that lasts for decades on the water. If you enjoy working with your hands, care about quality, and want to be part of something that’s built to endure, this role is for you.

  • Prepare molds and apply fiberglass, and resin using hand layup or vacuum infusion techniques.
  • Accurately measure, cut, and place fiberglass cloth and core materials
  • Use rollers, brushes, and tools to ensure even resin distribution and air removal
  • Monitor curing times and perform post-cure trimming or grinding

Office Assistant
Location: Zenda, WI

Our company is seeking an Office Assistant to join our team. This position requires the ability to work well independently and in a team environment. Duties will include answering phones, order entry, payment processing, bookkeeping, and more. Customer experience is a must!
