Milan, Italy – Melges Performance Sailboats is pleased to announce the official launch of Melges Europe. Directed by Melges 24 World Champion crewmember and double European Champion Federico Michetti, Melges Europe will act as a distribution center for the Melges 32 and provide added support for other Melges products. “This is a big first step for the Melges 32 in Europe as the excitement for this ultra high performance yacht is at an all time high. It’s fast, fun and you can trailer it anywhere,” commented Michetti, president of Melges Europe.
“It has always been a dream for me to work alongside Harry Melges,” said Michetti. “I really love the brand, therefore the leadership of this new company comes naturally to me. We will carry on with Melges’ philosophy of building a superior, technologically advanced product and supporting it with incomparable customer service.” The newly formed company will oversee the assembly of the Melges 32 as it enters Europe and will establish a dealer network for its distribution.
Harry Melges, president of Melges Performance Sailboats (Zenda, Wi, USA) is thrilled to have Michetti as part of the worldwide Melges Team. “Federico possesses a great deal of sailing experience at a very high level and understands how to organize a winning team,” said Melges. “His organizational skills will be a great asset to Melges Europe. He will also work closely with Devoti Sailing to ensure continued growth and support of the Melges 24 too.”

ABOUT THE MELGES 32
The Melges 32 is pure speed, simplicity, function and fun in ultra high performance one design racing.
The Melges 32’s sleek hull shape measures 31 feet, 10 inches in length and possesses a powerful sail plan with an asymmetrical spinnaker. Along with a very clean deck layout, other high-tech, cutting-edge features include a carbon fiber spar, rudder, bowsprit and vertical keel fin. Easy to launch via hoist or ramp, it is equipped with a gin pole and can be rigged without the assistance of a crane to step the mast.
