Melges is proud to welcome Andrew Lowe, an accomplished composite boat building engineer, to serve as General Manager. Lowe will be responsible for maintaining high-quality production and delivery of all Melges products.

“Melges is a well-respected name, synonymous with quality, passion and racing heritage. I am proud to be part of the Melges team — a team that is a dominant force in advanced sailboat building, engineering and technology,” says Lowe. “I’ve always searched for ways to apply my skills to smaller race boats. This is a chance to be a part of something that is already great, with a unique opportunity to make it even greater.”

Andrew was born and raised in England, growing up on the Isle of Wight near Cowes, where he spent his childhood sailing and building boats. After a successful boat building apprenticeship, Andrew established an impressive career in composite manufacturing. His accolades include working closely with current America’s Cup and Volvo Ocean Racing teams. He was specifically responsible for overseeing the build quality, scheduling and delivery of yachts. Andrew was also recently involved with the construction of the P-Star.

“We are quite excited to have Andrew join our global team,” says Andy Burdick, Melges Performance Sailboats president. “His knowledge and experience will further benefit Melges’ efforts to build the absolute best sailboats in the world and provide top-notch customer service and support.
We have some new and exciting things coming up and Andrew will be at the forefront.”
